By creating an account or using our Services, you confirm that you are at least 15 years old (or have guardian consent) and agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, you may not use the Services.

YKIprep.fi offers an AI-powered Finnish language learning platform designed to help users prepare for the YKI exam (National Certificate of Language Proficiency). Our Services include, among other things:

• AI-driven Finnish conversation practice
• Grammar lessons and vocabulary exercises
• YKI exam practice simulations and readiness assessment
• Progress tracking and personalized learning paths
• Educational blog content and study materials

We are an independent service provider and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Finnish National Agency for Education (OPH), the University of Jyväskylä, or Migri. Our materials are based on publicly available information about the YKI exam. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services, giving reasonable advance notice where required.

Using certain features requires creating an account. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your account credentials confidential
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Providing accurate and up-to-date information
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially violate these Terms, providing notice where reasonably possible.

YKIprep.fi offers both free and premium subscription plans. Premium features require a paid subscription. Prices are shown inclusive of applicable VAT where required. By purchasing a subscription:

• You authorize the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) to charge your chosen payment method.
• Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• We may change prices with reasonable advance notice; changes take effect from the next billing period.
• Billing, renewals, and refunds are also governed by the applicable app store's policies.

As a consumer resident in the EU/Finland, you generally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days under the Finnish Consumer Protection Act (38/1978, Chapter 6).

Important exception for digital content: if you purchase digital content or a digital service (such as premium access) that is delivered immediately, and you expressly request that performance begin during the withdrawal period, you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal as soon as performance begins. If performance has not yet begun, you can withdraw within 14 days by contacting legal@ykiprep.fi.

You can cancel your subscription at any time; cancelling stops future renewals, and you retain access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Because purchases are made through app stores, refund requests are handled according to the Apple App Store's and Google Play's refund policies. This does not affect your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble our software
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated tools to access or interact with the Services in a disruptive manner
• Upload harmful content or behave abusively
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any party

All content, features, and functionality of our Services — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, software, and AI models — are the property of YKIprep or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial educational purposes.

Our AI tutor generates content dynamically. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors. YKIprep does not guarantee that AI-generated language instruction is error-free.

Our Services are intended to supplement — not replace — formal education and official YKI preparation.

To the extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that:

• The Services will operate uninterrupted, timely, securely, or error-free
• Results obtained from the Services will be accurate or reliable
• Using our Services guarantees passing the YKI exam

Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot be limited under mandatory Finnish law.

To the maximum extent permitted by Finnish law, YKIprep is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory Finnish consumer protection law.

These Terms are governed by Finnish law. As a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.

If a dispute cannot be resolved through our customer service, you as a consumer can refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board:

Otherwise, disputes are resolved in the Helsinki District Court.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will publish the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes affecting your rights will be announced with reasonable advance notice. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of them.
